What is Elijah House?

Elijah House is a Christian ministry that helps people experience God’s healing love in the broken places of their hearts. Through courses, pastoral counseling, and prayer, we walk alongside individuals as they find resolution and peace through forgiveness and freedom in Christ.

Is Elijah House connected to the “Elijah House” mentioned in California news reports?

No. The Elijah House you may have read about in California news is not affiliated with us in any way.

  • That organization was a homeless shelter in Lake County, California.
  • Our Elijah House is a Christian ministry founded in Idaho with a completely different mission: bringing heart healing through Jesus.
  • We have no connection, legal, financial, or organizational, to that shelter or its activities.

Because we share a name, search engines sometimes confuse the two. We want to reassure you: Elijah House Ministries has never been under indictment or investigation.

How is Elijah House funded?

Elijah House is supported through course tuition, counseling sessions, and donations from friends of the ministry. We are committed to careful stewardship and transparency, using every resource God provides to help bring His healing to hearts around the world.

What does “heart healing” mean?

Heart healing is the process of bringing the hidden wounds of our lives into God’s presence and allowing His love to bring peace where there has been pain. Scripture reminds us, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). Our hearts shape how we see ourselves, others, and even God. When our hearts are wounded, the beliefs that form there can lead us into patterns of pain. When God heals those places, new freedom and truth begin to take root. Heart healing often involves prayer, forgiveness, and learning to walk in freedom through Christ. Each person’s story is unique, and God is gentle and faithful in the way He meets us.

Do I need to be a counselor to take Elijah House courses?

No. Our courses are for anyone who desires personal healing and growth. Many come simply to receive God’s healing in their own lives, while others use what they learn to strengthen their families, relationships, and communities. Some do go on to become trained pastoral counselors, but it isn’t required.

Do I need to share personal details during a course?

You’ll never be pressured to share more than you’re comfortable with. Many people find healing by sharing their stories, but God works gently, and your pace is honored.

Does Elijah House offer scholarships for courses?

Thanks to the generosity of donors, scholarships are sometimes available for those who qualify

Can I get counseling through Elijah House?

Yes. Elijah House offers pastoral counseling sessions. These are not a replacement for medical or psychiatric care, but they provide a safe, faith-based place to share your struggles and invite God’s healing.

What is the difference between pastoral counseling at Elijah House and professional therapy?

Elijah House pastoral counseling is rooted in prayer and the Word of God. It focuses on the heart and spiritual roots of life’s struggles. Professional therapy, on the other hand, provides clinical care that we do not offer. Many people find that both can complement each other.

Who are the counselors at Elijah House?

Our counselors are men and women who have completed in-depth pastoral heart healing training based on Elijah House principles. They are immersed in these truths not only through their training but also in the way they live their own lives. Each one carries a heart to minister God’s love with compassion and understanding, walking with others through life’s struggles with prayer, wisdom, and a Christ-centered approach.

How can I donate or support Elijah House?

You can partner with us through prayer, donations, or by spreading the word about our courses and resources. Every gift helps extend God’s healing love to more people.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes. Elijah House is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible in the United States.
