Simple Ways to Further Your Destiny in Times of Crisis
by Rochelle Holben

Do you sense the divine movement happening on the earth right now?
Our Creator is inviting us into perpetual movement—to respond to Him, to get to know His ways, and to do great exploits on the earth. We get to step out and build, grow, and find creative ways of meeting others’ needs.

This is a time for MOVEMENT.

Every day we’re presented with choices because of where we are, the panic in the world, the trauma that’s going on, all the fear of the future. But even in the midst of this pain, we have an opportunity to make intentional choices that lead us into our design and destiny.

This is a season to move into open spaces.

Instead of waiting for government officials or programs to lead us, let’s look to see what the Creator is doing and recognize that we’re in a strategic time of movement—a time to move in and build small businesses and prepare for the needs of others. There are a lot of open spaces that need to be filled with kingdom-minded people.

I feel like this is what the Lord is doing right now:

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,” says the Lord,
“plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future
and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me,
and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep
longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you
will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by
you,” says the Lord, “and I will restore your fortunes and I will [free you
and] gather you from all the nations…” (Jer. 29:11–14 AMP)

Recognizing the Time and Season

The sons of Issachar knew their times and seasons, and the rest of Israel leaned on this tribe and their knowledge of what to do and how to respond (1 Chron. 12:32). That’s the level of hope and influence you and I are called to as well. That’s who we were created to be—people of innovation and invention, even in hard times. As we walk in our callings as the children of God, we are like safe places in the storm for others.

“Why do you look at peace when there’s so much trauma?” the world asks.
Because we know who we are in the Creator and our eyes are on Him! He’s the One who set up our times and seasons in the beginning, and He’s prepared for both. He leads us down the right path and shows us the steps we can take to change the world and bring hope.

Ideas for Destiny in Crisis

When you find yourself in any kind of crisis, I encourage you to do five things:

1. Attend to what matters most; do the things that count.

Put your family first, and let your ministry grow out of the overflow.

2. Do what you can to reconcile your relationships.

Even though it’s God’s heart for us to live in reconciliation, at times there is no pathway to the other person’s heart. Maybe they don’t want to forgive, or maybe they’re unwilling to acknowledge their bad behavior or destructive responses. In that kind of situation, let God work. Trust Him to take care of this person, their heart, and your heart. All of us want a clean slate in our relationships, but sometimes this takes an act of God.

3. Learn the principles of God and lean into them.

Base your life on godly principles. They are true and you can follow them. Instead of getting tossed around by every wave or blast of wind, you can build your house on the rock and not be shaken. Real peace is an outcome of living on the foundation stone of Jesus.

4. Invite God to give you a vision for your purpose and design.

Ask Him to show you how you will play a part in His movements on the earth in this season.

5. Ask God why He made you personally, and invite Him to develop you according to His unique design for you.

You were created for this time—to be alive today. Invite the Creator to give you creative innovations, ideas, plans, and thoughts and to make you an influence in this culture and
season.

  • What a great word of encouragement! This needs to be on a bill board so non believers can know the hope and feel safe.
